Roger A. Freeman UK Tour | Behind the Wire – POW Experience Tour

During World War II, more than 28,000 members of the Eighth Air Force became prisoners of war, enduring captivity far from home after their aircraft were lost over occupied Europe.

Behind the Wire: The POW Experience follows their story across Germany and Poland, visiting places that became defining chapters in the POW experience. The journey includes Stalag Luft I and Stalag Luft III, two of the major camps where Allied airmen were held, as well as Colditz Castle, the legendary fortress prison used to confine Allied officers.

Through these historic sites, travelers will explore the realities of captivity and the remarkable stories of resilience, ingenuity, camaraderie, and survival that carried these airmen through the war.
