Press Conference announcing Federal Distinction for the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force

 January 8th, 2024 | 4:00pm

Chatham County, GA –

The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force has been awarded federal distinction through the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This honorific designation recognizes the museum as being of national importance. While most national museums are funded and operated by the federal government, some private museums have been authorized by Congress to be designated as national museums.

The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force is one such private museum to receive this distinction. To officially announce this designation, the President and CEO Scott Loehr and Representative Earl L. “Buddy” Carter will hold a press conference at the museum on Monday, January 8th at 4:00pm.
