F-4 Phantom

A masterpiece of engineering, the F-4 was originally designed for use on board Navy aircraft carriers. In 1962, the Air Force adopted a ground attack version of the F-4 after it had easily outperformed its F-106 in head-to-head competition.

MiG-17A

Introduced in 1951, the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17A remained on frontline duty well into the 1980s. The MiG-17 was used in Vietnam and in many of the African and Middle-Eastern conflicts of the ‘60s, ‘70s & ‘80s.

B-47 Stratojet

During the 1950s and early 1960s, the B-47 played a vital role as a mainstay of the United States nuclear deterrent forces. The B-47s and their crews stood on nuclear alert during the Cold War, prepared to strike the Soviet Union with only a few minutes warning.
