Support the museum, a national treasure that preserves the history and legacy of the incredible Eighth Air Force in WWII. The battles they fought took place in the skies over Europe. These airmen flew 30,000 feet through flak fields in unpressurized aircraft in 35 below zero conditions in 10-12 hour missions.
They flew dangerous daylight bombing raids into the heart of industrial Nazi
Germany and achieved air supremacy against experienced Luftwaffe pilots. The Mighty Eighth made the D-Day Landings possible, thereby setting the stage for victory in WWII.
Twenty six thousand men lost their lives, more than all the Marines in WWII.
Support the museum, a memorial and education center, dedicated to teaching future generations the history of the Eighth and showing the world the high price of war. The event is chaired by Dan DeGood, son of Donn W. DeGood, B-24 Pilot, 30 missions, 453rd Bomb Group.
