This A-2 flying jacket was owned by radio operator/gunner George G. Roberts of the 306th Bomb Group.
He was assigned to to the B-17 Rose of York, named in honor of England's Princess Elizabeth. Battle honors on the rear of the jacket include some of Roberts' missions flown prior to his assignment on Rose of York.
Roberts flew his last mission on July 9, 1944.
This "bomber jacket" is displayed in the Savannah to UK exhibit in the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force.
